Tuesdays With Dorie: No cheesecake for you

I skipped the Tall and Creamy cheesecake this week because I just didn’t need any more sweets in the house. I’ll be taking a look at the other TWD Bakers to see how the recipe went and what creative touches they added. 

I’d like to send out a big thank you to Stephanie of 1 x a week, who got my name in the Elfster card exchange. She sent me a package with a nice card, a Martha Stewart Holiday magazine, and the book Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic and Disguise by Ruth Reichl.  Believe it or not, that book is on my “books to read” list! Reichel was a food critic for the New York Times and I’m looking forward to reading about her experiences.  I love magazines too, and didn’t have this one, so she did a great job!

Speaking of food-related books, if you’re interested in cooking school, check out The Sharper Your Knife, the Less you Cry by Kathleen Flinn. It’s the true story of Flinn’s experience living in Paris and attending Le Cordon Bleu.  I listened to this on audiobook and loved it!
