A couple of recipe recommendations

September 14, 2009

I just returned from a two-week vacation. I had a little bit of time for email, but didn’t touch my Google Reader, and when I looked at it this weekend it said “1000+” items. I also got on the scale this weekend and it said…a few more pounds than I wish it did! Why is Google so vague yet my scale is so precise?

Tuesdays With Dorie will resume next week. In a few days, I’ll have a nice healthy salad for you, so check back! In the meantime, let me point you in the direction of two fantastic recipes I’ve made but didn’t post on my blog.

This Naan recipe from Melissa at Love at First Bite turned out fabulous. After resting (step 4), I put half of the dough in the refrigerator. The next day, I pulled it out, let it warm up on the counter for a little bit and then cooked it. It worked out great. The cooked naan also heated up nicely in the toaster oven.

Mary Ann from Meet Me in the Kitchen posts a lot of Cooking Light recipes. I subscribe to Cooking Light, but she gets to the recipes before I do, and tries some that I may not have tried. This one for Pork Strips with Peanut Sauce and Rice Noodles is one that I passed over in the magazine, but it looked so tempting when I saw it on her blog. It was a huge hit with us and I’ll definitely be making it again! I added a can of sliced water chestnuts for some extra crunch.

Enjoy!
